Newsflash: The Bookman has found a new home
in the Oundle Bookshop
A new chapter is about to begin for Northamptonshire's oldest bookshop, as The Oundle Bookshop enters its next era under new ownership.
The historic independent bookshop, which has served readers for more than 120 years, has been acquired by Sam Draper, founder of The London Bookman and a former English teacher with 17 years' experience in schools across London, as Head of English.
The Oundle Bookshop will retain its name, identity and independent spirit, with Sam taking on the stewardship of one of Northamptonshire's best-loved literary institutions.
Welcome to the Oundle Bookshop: Home of The Bookman. The Bookman gift subscription will continue as normal, but just in some good company.
We're currently close for refurbishment over the summer, but will open with a bang in September. Please come and visit, and meet The Bookman in person.

Lucy, Cornwall
This is a totally original gift idea. Sam asked questions about the types of genres I most enjoy reading and what challenges I might like to set myself. Sam puts a great deal of effort into matching book and personality and this unique experience and the stories I have read will all stay with me for a very long time to come!
The Company of Books
2020 has been a strange time for everyone, and with so many over-70s in 'shelf-isolation' and not able to be with their nearest and dearest, The London Bookman wanted to help.
During March, April, May, and June, The Bookman sent out 350 free books to nominated folks in isolation. Personally chosen Bookman Bundles with a phone call or letter to share The Company of Books
