The Company of Books began during the first lockdown in 2020, when Sam and The Bookman sent 350 free, personally chosen books to over-70s living in isolation — each with a letter and a phone call. It continues as a charitable gifting option today.
You can nominate a reader yourself, or let Sam find someone from the list of readers who have been put forward. Either way, they'll receive three books — one every two to three weeks — wrapped and sent through the post. Plus a welcome letter. Plus a call.
